…Wait, I think I got it. Parental hijinx. Dave+Bro-Rose is almost 30 pages, Rose+Mom-Dave only 4.

I *had* been getting the impression this fandom likes Bro a lot more than the other guardians.

That doesn't explain it all though. The 4 popular ships for Rose amount to a little over 1300 (Guns & Roses is about the same size as Dersecest or Smores), the 6 equally popular ships for Dave amount to about 2200. So not even a third of their difference comes from this, & smaller ships can hardly add more than a couple hundred pics.

For that matter, in solo pics too Dave has a lead of only a couple hundred on Rose.

Now sure I agree the boys having a lead is predictable, seeing how the comic has for most of its existence had 3 guy leads versus 5 girls. I just wonder where exactly all the lead is? It might be from lots of little things, but I feel like I'm overlooking something.

It's not really odd. John, Dave, and Karkat all have really diverse shipping profiles.

Rose and Jade have like two popular ships a piece (I'll give Rose 3 with Dersecest I guess). It makes a difference.

I'd always sort of thought he might have a human-like lifespan, for the not-very-good reason that his blood is human-colored. Come to think of it, that's not necessarily mutually exclusive with the above.

Karkat isn't at the top OR the bottom. He's completely off the hemospectrum. Meaning his lifespan can't be predicted soley based on its redness.

If anything, I imagine he has a lifespan somewhere between sollux and nepeta. There seem to be some implications that if he wasn't a mutant he'd be a lime blood, since lime corresponds to his zodiac position and is the only hemospectrum caste not accounted for among the trolls.

This is two centuries after a human.
