Ahahaha oh my god. That's fantastic. Now this is how you utilize a webcomic's medium to its full potential.

Also, did anyone else notice that Caliborn is itty bitty compared to Gamzee? Dude's kneeling and hunched over and he still almost looks Caliborn in the eye.

Well, that was exceptionally trippy.

Also, I love the little thumbs up Gamzee gives when the music starts up again. I was actually starting to feel bad for the guy, believe it or not.

So Yal is apparently the biggest baddest dude in terms of Denizens. I'm guessing his terms might have something to do with Caliborn becoming LE?

Also Caliborn continues to be a nerd.

THE ENTIRE EARTH JUST GOT MOVED TO ANOTHER UNIVERSE TO ESCAPE THE MILES-

I BLAME GCAT.

In other revelations, this update may suggest that Denizens don't work the way we thought they did, with Denizens being shared amongst Aspects. But if that is the case, and Aspect does determine Denizen, then that means Nepeta got one of the most challenging Denizens in the game. ~swoon

Caliborn is a Time player so I don't see how that would work? Unless him being in a Dead Session has something to do with it making him an exception. Iunno there's a lot about Denizens that we don't know, can't really say much with certainty at this point.

Yal is definitely the coolest Denizen ever though holy crap.

@Pie, Yaldabaoth is now Earth's Denizen. When Caliborn's planet appears. it presumably will be a Time player's world and have the proper Time Denizen, Hephaestus.

Yeah me too.

http://www.spiritpathways.com/gnosis.html

"Gnostics believe there is a transcendent, unknowable being simply called the "True Father" or "Living Father." From this being came a number of other beings: the Mother, the Autogenes (in some texts), and a multitude of celestial entities. These entities came in male/female pairs, and one of the key themes in later Gnostic myths is the disaster that occurs when the feminine half acts without the male half. The best known example of this theme is the creation of Yaldaboath, an entity the Gnostics believed was the Biblical Yahweh. This creator lacked a male parent, and thus was imperfect and believed he was the most powerful being in the universe."

Hella Gnostic symbolism up in this bitch. Yaldaboath is basically the Jewish God. If Caliborn's denizen is being likened to God.. I shudder to think what Caliborn's "Choice" will be.

male/female pairs just makes me think of cherubs, and now what Caliborn did in murdering his sister sounds an awful lot like what Gnostic mythology refers to as "a disaster" that apparently resulted in the creation of the God of the Bible, who Gnostics believe is a false god (who thinks he's hot shit, apparently, just like Caliborn thinks of himself.) who is incomplete, lacking a male influence....

But we have a male influence. Its inverted. What we're lacking is a female one (Calliope?)

Going along with the Gnostic parallel, even if he's not "the true" God, is Caliborn being called one? If so... who's the "true" God going to be?

But Caliborn is a Time player. More likely is that every so often, a gifted player's normal denizen gets swapped out with Yaldabaoth.

Where are you getting that Yal is Earth's Denizen and not Caliborn's planet Denizen?

Anyway I think Denizen are determined by your personality the same way your class and aspect are. Though I have a theory that each aspect has a "default denizen" such as Cetus for Light players, Echidna for Space players, etc. Though if a player is extremely talented or have a high enough "skill level", their default denizen is replaced by Yaldabaoth as a superboss that actually challenges them. It's possible that Nepeta may have received a completely different denizen and one of the other trolls had Yal instead. Or it's possible that none of them received Yal.

They explicitly mention that Yaldabaoth is in the core of Earth, and appeared there when it got sucked into the Medium. Yaldabaoth is necessary because his Choice allows the other, "real", Planet to appear. Need I remind you of:

NO. MORE QUESTIONS FIRST.
WHAT AM I ULTIMATELY STRIVING TO UNLOCK.
TO MAKE MY REAL LAND APPEAR.
IS IT SOME SORT OF GIANT, FANCY KEYHOLE.
No. More like a big door.
A DOOR TO WHAT.
TREASURE?
Kind of.
If there's any treasure in there, it would be guarded by your denizen.
WHAT'S THAT.
A powerful monster that rules your planet, asleep in the core.
He appeared there the moment Earth got sucked into your session.

Basically, if you accept his terms, your real adventure will begin. Your true planet will be unlocked, and a whole lot of other crazy shit will happen. It's best not to get bogged down in the details though.

Yaldabaoth is in the core of Earth, explicitly stated to have appeared in the planet's core the instant it entered the Inciphisphere, and is needed to create Caliborn's REAL planet.

Yeah Yal seems like the exception to the class rule which I feel otherwise could very well hold true. Not to say that Nepeta (or any of the other trolls) couldn't have had him as her Denizen like Chocoboo said, but I don't think she automatically would have just on account of possessing the same aspect as Dirk.

And, like her fellow players, roflstomped that bitch. You won't get Leijon, Leijon gets you.

The comment up there who says Yaldabaoth is YHWH, who created Earth.

And holy shit, what if Yaldabaoth is responsible for creating Lord English and turns out to be the biggest bad? Because that would mean that the kids will have to go and KILL GOD. Shit, it's like Shin Megami Tensei up in this bitch.
