I had to look up Yaldabaoth after reading that, man this will be interesting
Yeah me too.
http://www.spiritpathways.com/gnosis.html"Gnostics believe there is a transcendent, unknowable being simply called the "True Father" or "Living Father." From this being came a number of other beings: the Mother, the Autogenes (in some texts), and a multitude of celestial entities. These entities came in male/female pairs, and one of the key themes in later Gnostic myths is the disaster that occurs when the feminine half acts without the male half. The best known example of this theme is the creation of Yaldaboath, an entity the Gnostics believed was the Biblical Yahweh. This creator lacked a male parent, and thus was imperfect and believed he was the most powerful being in the universe."
Hella Gnostic symbolism up in this bitch. Yaldaboath is basically the Jewish God. If Caliborn's denizen is being likened to God.. I shudder to think what Caliborn's "Choice" will be.
male/female pairs just makes me think of cherubs, and now what Caliborn did in murdering his sister sounds an awful lot like what Gnostic mythology refers to as "a disaster" that apparently resulted in the creation of the God of the Bible, who Gnostics believe is a false god (who thinks he's hot shit, apparently, just like Caliborn thinks of himself.) who is incomplete, lacking a male influence....
But we have a male influence. Its inverted. What we're lacking is a female one (Calliope?)
Going along with the Gnostic parallel, even if he's not "the true" God, is Caliborn being called one? If so... who's the "true" God going to be?
