@Doc_Bad_Ideas Were... you in /co/'s HSG thread? I swear I saw someone say almost verbaitim exactly what you've said just now. Just curious, because I'm having some serious deja vu.

Also, guys.

Guys.

Jane is wearing a mustache, pants, and has a weapon apparently made from the King's cepter. Their Queen is disguised as the King.

This really makes me wonder how much of the Caliborn vs Calliope chess match was foreshadowing.

... I swear I'm done babbling now. I'll go back to lurking. (Christ, it's 7:22, I should probably go to sleep.)

...That is an interesting point.

Current headcanon about the skeletal underlings: In the long period of time it took for planets to start appearing, the materials they were constructed out of simply fell off their frames, leaving nothing but bones. The oil drips off, the rust crumbles, the amethyst chips away, etc. Also good to know their bones are the same-ish color as the Aspect their home Planet is home to.

Aaaaaa woah, not much plotwise here but the art is seriously cool.

LoMaX and LoPaN seems to be a huge fucking plasma balls; the former seems to have something weird going on in its interior; I wonder what's the deal with the pyramids on the latter in Jane and Dirk's colors; and LoTaK is kind of fucking metal. Also I had not realized Prospit was that much smaller than the main planets?

The crew seems reasonably cheery for having apparently spent five months in a post-apocalyptic survivalism scenario. The Hero of Life callback bit was nice…

BTW if you count Jack's tally marks, the plot is currently on April 12, 2012. I'm guessing A6I4 is going to begin with the beta kids crashing into the session, followed by the alpha kids retelling the last five months via flashback?

(Or some cherub hijinx, I'd be OK with that just as well.)

Guys, you are putting way too much thought into the skull thing. You want to know why the underlings are all skeletal and some have Lord English-style teeth (short ones)?

Because Jake prototyped a skull. The other things that might have been prototyped are not showing because the skull is very dominant because of its connection to Lord English.

Also, I find it facinating that Jack carves his tally in sevens instead of fives.

So concerns over the grist supply likely continue, then. Did we see their houses? They may end up holding back on building up for a while.

Also, it's at least as likely that the undeaderlings were actually created as skeletons in the first place. Possibly by virtue of being created by a different entity than usual.

@Mr. Ruse: That's pre-entry prototypings only, which this session explicitly doesn't have.

As far as Grist goes, Jane still has her shredding device, so they've probably been taking junk from around the planets to get it down to base materials. It definitely wouldn't be a problem, considering that one obelisk on LOCAH was able to be broken down to near millions. They had to have some source of Grist, otherwise they couldn't alchemize anything.

We didn't see any progress on their houses, which is probably significant considering that they've spent about 5 or 6 months in-game.

That's definitely an interesting idea. I'm still looking into it, but I believe it was said at one point that a Planet's Denizen makes the Underlings for that Planet? I don't think it was one Denizen that made all the Underlings across all the Planets. It's up in the air, of course, since we don't really know that much about void sessions after this flash.

---

This is unrelated, but did anyone else think of the City of the Rats from Deltora Quest when we saw LOTAK? I swear the place is a dead ringer, especially with Yaldabaoth chilling in the center of the ruins the way he is.

Nobody prototyped anything, remember? Void session.

This is a very good observation.

I wouldn't think twice about it normally, but that scepter is pretty iconic of the King.

what nice outfits we got

i can imagine jake like asking for that tat though ahahaha

I want to see the Alpha kids talk more thooooough. And play their game! I'm really, really fond of them. Roxy, come back. :3c

I am assuming things based on canonical evidence, little as there may be, none of which points to "eroded" characters. Which is similar to what you are doing, along with incorporating a lot more personal feeling toward a specific character.

You say I'm fabricating this based on my alleged personal animosity for the character. You are really quick to think the worst of others, has anyone ever told you that? It sounds like you've even assumed I'm assuming the worst has already happened, rather than outlining what would be an overall trend of change in a particular direction.

Outlining all the hints would get kind of involved, but Dirk has both implied and expressed his intent to shape the team into a more formidable force, his methods are on full display, and it all fits with his deliberately-ominous stated role in the session. It's no more "headcanon" than claiming the kids and guardians would switch places was a year ago.

Typheus "was asked to commission" underlings. To "commission" would mean he solicited the services of another party. That line is literally all we know about where underlings come from: Typheus didn't make his.

Come to think of it, the Land of Mounds and Xenon has quite a few slopes in the landscape.

They are the Hills of Golgotha(sTerror).
