What's the tag for broken links?

"broken source"

Since we are listing what the Homestuck pic is crossing over with when using the "crossover" tag, would it be a good idea to apply "copyright:" to whatever series/game/etc it is to turn it purple and distinguish it from the rest of the tags?

We may as well. Dunno what else we'd use it for.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention last night, I rooted out pictures of Kanaya's other known dresses as I went along. I went ahead and tagged those afterward because why not, so the kanaya's_red_dress tag now comes in green, blue, pink, and black flavors.

And about the black one: this is the main reason just "red_dress" and "black_dress" are poor tags for specific outfits, because the tag list has to encompass more than just one character's wardrobe. (Also it just seems like a tag for a distinct item should sound distinct.)

I'm fine with Rose's Black Dress. That fits the Kanaya format so it should be good enough.

Actually, I would've liked the other tags to be a bit more descriptive than "Kanaya's dress" (ideally I wouldn't have specified a character at all), but there was no good way to do that.

Something like "black_squiddle_dress" is probably the ideal choice, in the same vein as "Green Slime Ghost Suit" and the like. (Also apostrophes are inconvenient, since they seem to break the quick-tag links.)

Except one is a canon name and the other is not.
I still don't understand why making up names for clothing is perfectly fine, but making up ship names apparently wrecks peoples brains, but I digress.

You have beaten me down on this issue, so whatever you want works. I'll leave you in charge of adjusting the tag.

Well you can pull up ships by simply let's say "Itchy Die shipping", so ship tags (ditto group tags) are 90% of the time shortcuts rather than new information. They have their use but I consider them pretty lo-priority.

Would you people mind a "sketchdump" tag for sketchbook things with characters randomly all over a picture? Also perhaps even doing away with group tags on them (I think they only should apply to "lineup" or actual group pics)? Solo pics could be included as well.

edit: Are we back to using "source_needed" in place of "unsourced"?

edit2: also see under "is_this_even_necessary" for some stuff I think may not be relevant for the board

Yes one is a canon name; that actually supports my stance. The canon name refers entirely to the appearance. It describes the garment and the design it bears. Your confusion confuses me.

Sourced_needed is a much better tag as it denoted desire for source. Replace the unsourced tag with it.

No tag is low priority -_-

Sure you /could/ type three things instead of one, but the point of tags is ease and speed finding things. If you're tagging things, tag ship names too. Contrary to popular belief, none of them are pulled out of thin air, they all come from various places in the fandom.

If something is no longer necessary to the board like say older user graphs or whatever, just flag them for deletion I'll look at them.

I don't consider them low priority.

"Itchy Die Shipping" will net you things like:

1) The desired Itchy and Die sloppy makeouts
2) Pictures that are actually a bunch of pictures (like sketchdumps) that include Itchy and Die, and shipping art two other characters that you don't want to see making out
3) A picture of Itchy getting NTR'd by Crowbar, the superior suitor, macking on Die.
4) itchy jerkin it to ntr

Not specific enough.

(hehe i see what felt you ship trop)

Yeah which is why I said they do have their use. The thing to note is that this tag combination DOES get you all the pics of the pairing in question, in addition to other stuff.

Then we have, as increasingly unfindable:
- items (outfits, weapons…) will be *mostly* contained within the tag of one or two characters but with a small number to be sought elsewhere (OK bigger ships also have this kind of stuff like solo clothingswaps)
- finding a specific untagged artist's work requires looking up each pic one by one
- tags like "crying" or "blood" will be needed all over the place
- untagged sourceless pics can only be located exhaustively by going thru the entire board
- broken sources likewise, but you also need to check every source posted

Randomly generated example, but nice try. :P

Edit: can we not turn askblogs into artist tags? The actual artist usually has a general artblog somewhere.

Typing in John is also going to get you all his godtier pictures... that can be said about all tags.

I feel that if thier personal cannot be tracked down then use the ask name, if it can be use their personal. Not all the askblogs advertise their main freely, but I do agree with the basic premise that askblogs are not the actual artist.

Better than nothing though.

Ok so I kind of want outfit names for some of these feasting outfits like Porrim's dress, Kankri's onesie ect.

Only problem is these would be total fanon names made on this board pretty much.

Discuss I guess.
