Okay I just tagged a thing as 'bandages' and evidently we already have the tag here as an artist tag.
That's why I think we should use "bandage" but I'd rather not move ahead before hearing a more detailed argument from the other side as to why "injured_davesprite" should stay. Because the existence of a "bandage" tag would totally obviate "injured_davesprite" and it seems I'm more comfortable with that than others.
EDIT: Oh, and, uh, it would also obviate the bandages pool. Which is why I posted it down here in the first place. Just... thought I should... reiterate that

As mentioned before there are a few images of a bandaged non-injured Davesprite such as the ones where he is drawn as a she such as so post #56779.
Also the injured Davesprite is so unique that is has it's own sprite mode sprite in the actual comic.

So on post #56779 we would just add "bandage"? That first point supports the "bandage" argument, not the "injured_davesprite" argument. I mean, you could argue for adding "bandage" and not deleting "injured_davesprite", but any combination of "davesprite" and "bandage" and maybe "blood" could return an image of Davesprite in any state of injury you'd like.
Not sure where you're going with the second point. Tavros with robot legs is also so unique that he has his own sprite mode sprite in the actual comic. But we don't have a "robot_legs_tavros" tag, thank god, we've got an "artificial_limb" tag. The one difference that mars that analogy is that Davesprite is the only canonically bandaged character while other characters canonically have artificial limbs, but the possibilities of fanon are truly limitless. There are obviously enough fanon portrayals of non-Davesprite characters in bandages for the idea of making it a tag instead of a pool to have some merit.

I don't mind if you decide to get rid of the bandage pool and turn "bandage" into a tag. I'm just not in favor of getting rid of the injured_davesprite tag. Not only is the character bloody and in bandages, but he's also missing a wing too. That tag describes that whole ordeal. It was also one of the earliest tags on the board which predates some of the other "alteration" tags here.
Ooh, the missing wing. That's something else, I forgot about it. I'll give you that one, but it still seems reasonable to me that davesprite + bandage should return every image currently tagged injured_davesprite.
If bandage can't supercede injured_davesprite then it's not really worth the effort to switch from the pool at all. As I said in the initial pitch, Bandages and Band-Aids isn't the only pool I think could be better realized as a tag, but the possibility of retiring injured_davesprite was what incited me to make this suggestion. I'm hoping to streamline two things into one.

Here's an example of a bandaged davesprite but he's not injured post #102519 and another one here post #88799
Yeah, and that's fine. I'm not sure if you're offering those as some kind of counterargument.
If you guys could take this to the tagging thread that'd be cool. I'm worried actual pool announcements are gonna get lost and it seems to have veered into more tag territory anyways?
That's fine since there doesn't seem to be much opposition to the suggestion that if "bandage" became a tag it would obviate the Bandages and Band-Aids pool.
Maybe change the tag around a bit, either to band-aid or change the artist tag bandages to something else and use the bandages tag, because with just "bandage" it's only one letter away from bondage. We don't need any tag confusion.
If you read my initial post you'll know why I put it here. You've also now added to the tag-related discussion.
I realized, but this is a thread for "New Pool Announcements" and if you want to discuss replacing a Pool with a tag then you put it in the General Tag thread - I only added here because the discussion is here.
And it would be nice if you replied to my main point:

Can I make a pool where Lusii act like moms and dads?
