I can't even imagine how the characters Aranea is infodumping on are reacting to all this. I'm not sure how many of them know the significance of all that's she's been explaining.

So, did Yaldabaoth really think Caliborn would take the "sacrifice themselves for the good of everyone else" option? I wonder, though, if it ties in with Calliope's quest to find a doomed timeline version of herself.

Picture this: of all the realities, one doomed-timeline version of Calliope triumphs over Caliborn, embarks on the session anyways, completes all the trials, and meets Yaldabaoth. She takes the path of sacrifice.

As Aranea says: "In death, the player would later 8e in the position to help 8ring an end to a force of unfathoma8le evil and destruction. A force which was unleashed, for instance, 8y *someone who once opted for the other choice.*" So maybe this doomed timeline Calliope that takes the path is one of the keys to beating Lord English!

Well there's that and the fact that Lord English has been stated to only be beatable with glitches and cheats. A timeline where Calliope dominated was said by Aranea to be "a highly impro8a8le glitch in causality", pretty much cementing the hidden Calliope's importance in the story.

e: Unrelated, but it's nice to finally see how Denizens actually interact with their respective players, the whole deal with a player only properly understanding their own Denizen was bugging me for a while.

I like to think that after explaining the sacrifice thing he pauzed, then both erupted in laughter. Then they high-fived (or Caliborn just held up his hand and Yaldabaoth pushed himself against it or something).

Um, we already knew that the big Y looks like. He's Dirk's denizen as well, remember?

So maybe he can give the kids The Choice as well... oh shit Davesprite no don't do it.

Yeah if the dominating!Calliope is of the same alignment as her OTL self I could see here taking the sacrifice route of the Choice.

Yeah, that's definitely the Calliope they're looking for.

I am interested to know how Yaldabaoth plays into the Alpha timeline now.

I meant we actually saw one in the flesh, not a statue or an icon.

Davesprite already made his choice with his Denizen back in late Act 5.2. It was about of having anything fixed, and he chose to fix the Deringer.
