My reaction was literally just repeating "ohhh shit" over and over.

So Jade can talk and is in semi-control of herself and her memories. Makes the whole thing kind of even more sad.

Dave meet your dear e-buddy.
Karkat meet your almost-crush.

Everyone have fun now.

(Also god Hussie please don't make any variation of the Hug of Death canon, I will be so upset. Cute fanart of it is fine and inevitable but if that's really how you get yourself out from under this seemingly unbeatable overpowered mind controlled dog jerk ubervillian you made I'm going to hurl.)

Damn you Pie. I had to look up Hug of Death for more context, and ended up spending a good 'hour and change' browsing tvtropes.org again.

That last image. They've both popped such massive boners.

My apologies for subjecting you to one of the stupidest concepts in fiction.

I mean it's fine when you're hugging a school girl who's mad about her boyfriend into submission but seriously. We've had enough of that plot hug stuff in this comic.

The "hug of death" that is being referenced is the trope:

I call it the Hug of Death because my real vein popper is when villains with mass amounts of power who have been built up to insanely high levels and are stupidly over powered literally get taken out ("killed") with hugs and love and flowers and puppies and rainbows. It's so anti-climactic and unbearably stupid.

I don't know what's going to get her and Jane back but just. Please Hussie. No HoDs. You've reached your limit of HoDs this narrative is allowed.

^I thought we already determined that LE could be defeated by Dirk hugging him.

Oh, and it's 0:36 AM here now. Happy 4/13.

Dark. Cold. Smells like old rain. It's been raining for pretty much the first time this month in the last few days or so. It's driven since the month began, perhaps long enough to forget its purpose. It no longer even knows to assuage fire. Somewhere a zealous god threads these strings between the clouds and the earth, preparing for a symphony it fears impossible to play. And so it threads on, and on, delaying the raise of the conductor's baton.

I so hate this season.

That is just... damn... that's poetic.

I just realized I'm gonna be in the last time zone to hit 4/13

How sad.

But I would argue the bolded statement has been Hussie's MO for a while now.

But yeah, I agree with you and would rather have Jade and Jane snap out of it through their own willpower/decisions.
