I'm not sure if "Deus ex machina" is exactly right either. Even though she attempts to assist the heroes into finishing the game, it's definitely not for their own benefit in the end. And yeah, I'm not exactly sure how Jade's mind control work considering the established rules of Taurus and Scorpio mind control. I'm thinking that the HIC somehow tapped into Jade's id somehow with her "sleep-talking", but she still seem relatively restrained for that. I could be wrong though.

That said I find Grimbark!Jade absurdly funny because she's essentially a try-hard teen who wants to be threatening and edgy. Like Karkat said she's threatening as mild flatulence.



Especially seeing that both Jade and Jadesprite had a double meltdown during their meeting with each other back in Act 5.2.




I always thought it was a missed opportunity on Hussie's part in not getting a Nannasprite+John+Jade conversation on the Battleship(among other things on there) And I wouldn't be surprised if he taking hiatus to figure out where the story would go since it seems at times he doesn't know where he wants it to go.

OK, cutting the sarcasm, did you really think HIC was just going to let the game play along in its entirety and just take the prize at the last minute? Her stated goal for a few acts now has been to rebuild her race, and more recently to get back at Lord English. She's not going to just sit back and let events progress as normal, and it's in-character that she doesn't care about the consequences of her actions as long they get her what she wants. It's not entirely fair to compare her to the Trickster Act either, since she's had far more buildup and elaboration than the Spiral Sucker (which admittedly came out of left field), and is already looking to have more impact on the story.

Okay, fair enough. I overreacted a bit. It's just a touchy thing and it's been making me all sorts of uncomfortable about where the story is going... and how much emphasis Grimbark Jade is getting (and will continue to get, I have no doubt of this).

Definitely agree with HIC being foreign and basically genre-savvying her ass up in here.

There was an update, I guess and Rose soberered up while both seers complain about lolar. At least their dialogue isn't glitched there.

You'd think a Seer of Light were the last possible class to complain about things being too bright. :b

I'm really not sure if Terezi is complaining about her eyes hurting or her eyes not hurting though.

Also I suspect the glitchiness is kind of reciprocal and we'll be now instead seeing glitched communiques from Dave & co.

Rose in Terezi's shades though.
