Things You Can do to Help
If you're not overly familiar with the tagging system / don't feel knowledgable enough to directly assist with tags I do have a few things you could possibly do to help chip away at the huge mess that is this site right now. None of this is like... being demanded, just a polite request to possibly lighten the load / speed up the cleaning.
1) Go through the duplicate tag and either report them as dupes or if you happen to be a moderator, go ahead and delete them (let me know the reasons why in the pop up though just for my clarity)
2) Go through the source_needed tag and using Google Image Source attempt to source some of them. I've had some success with a few of these because frankly, old Skaia was either a bit lazy or just not concerned with sourcing yet. But we are. If you manage to source something, don't forget to remove the source_needed tag. Sometimes it doesn't work, and that's alright. But given the fact that I've offhandedly sourced about 20 pictures leads me to believe the source_needed tag could be much smaller, and much more credit can be given.
3) If you do see any unsourced imaged, please slap the source_needed tag on them so that people attempting option 2 have more to potentially source.
4) check links to see if they are broken or not. for links you are unable to correctly fix, we do now have a broken_source tag to be added to such images. DO NOT REMOVE THE SOURCE SIMPLY FOR BEING BROKEN. Working links are of course preferable, but broken ones do serve as some sort of credit to the artist even if they aren't entirely helpful. If you are able to fix the link to the new source of the image, please do so.
I will continue working on the tags, the final part of the dump should be coming by tomorrow and then we will be caught up in uploads at least. If you do want to help with tagging, familiarize yourself with our tag list, and also check out the tag thread for new ideas, it would definitely be appreciated whatever you can chip in and do.
My goal is to have a sparkling clean fully functional as sourced as possible bustling imageboard by Christmas... but I wouldn't say no to sooner.
Thanks for the help guys.
