I have wrestled with this monstrosity of a painting for far too long. For better or for worse, here it is!
I combined several bits of imagery from Homestuck (i.e. the clock gears and Rufioh’s butterfly wings) with an old ritual called the Ushi no Kokumairi, started by a spurned maid in the year 800 in Kyoto. After her lover rejected her for another, she made a straw doll in his effigy, went into the forest at 3 AM (the Hour of the Cow in the traditional clock), and hammered iron nails into the doll. Her ex-lover died shortly thereafter.
Sound familiar?
Also, the kanji at the bottom of the painting are 滅鬼怒 (destruction-demon-rage), which sound out me-gi-do phonetically.
