The second part JUST ended and the third is yet to be announced. So it's really easy to catch up with.
You will not be disappointed.

Part 1 of Jojo is like crazy insane action horror with the GAR stylings of Fist of the North Star

Part 2 is crazy insane Indiana Jones-esque action adventure with more GAR.

Part 3 introduces crazy powerups and monster based power ups.

Part 4 is classic murder mystery.

Part 5 is a mobster gangster thriller story.

Part 6 is a babalicious prison story.

Part 7 is a fucking Western horse race alternate timeline.

and the protag of Part 8 is a sailor with four testicles.

You definitely won't hate Jojo for it's lack of... well bizarre scenarios. Get past the rather weak first arc and enjoy the ride the rest of the way.
