We definitely need a name for these two; no doubt their ship will soon overrun the board.
Personally, I like the idea of "uuzumaki". (for him it has his uu and deals with spirals, for her it's a manga and just plain japanese)

Definitely not the type of character you'd find in Uzumaki, but the spiral angle is pretty undeniably clever.

As someone who doesn't get the reference, I'd have no idea what a "uuzumaki" tag refers to. Maybe something not so obtuse?

Yeah, I love the spiral significance and just pretty much any Junji Ito shoutout whatsoever, but a ship name hinging on a non-English franchise reference is even trickier and more alienating than one in English.
On the other hand, anyone who doesn't know what Uzumaki is could just search it. And then they would discover the finest horror manga of all time, bar none. So that's................. a plus

You all realize that uzumaki is an actual word that really does mean "spiral" in the Japanese language. It's not just the name of a horror manga, and the word shows up in other, more mainstream works, Naruto for one. Plus the anime fandom is a feature of a number of characters in Homestuck, not to mention all the obscure puns and foreign language wordplay going on all over the canon itself. So yeah, Uzumaki is not "obtuse" and I challenge anyone to find a punnier name for this ship if they still really think so.

Uzumaki literally means "spiral" in japanese. It also happens to be the title of a horror manga that deals with them. (you may have also heard of Naruto Uzumaki who has similar motifs)
The two "uu" at the front is specifically to relate it to Caliborn along with the word being about spirals. One does not even need to know about the manga I mentioned (and indeed it has no real significance aside from the girl herself being tangentially related medium-wise).
Her being Japanese and using the Japanese word (which is sometimes used as a name) for spiral seemed like a great idea at the time when I realized just adding two u's connected it to him.
(also, if Hussie happens to give her a name and it ends up being "Maka" or "Maki" or any other close one like that I will flip out and that ship name will be definite)

We're not Japanese. Most people here don't know Japanese. So yes, using a Japanese word to as a pun is pretty damn obtuse.
