Honestly, Karkat was either suicidal or had become to retarded to survive in these panels. He did everything short of snatching the war fork, screaming "THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT BITCHES!", and skewering his heart himself. I know he's a combatant little worm who responds to threats and stress with loud, empty insults, but here I think he's forgotten that he's speaking in person, and got the fate all Internet Tough Guys like him deserve.

I think it was more, it was jade, and he honestly didnt perceive her as a real threat to himself, even if she had become evil, because he still felt like she was an ally at some level. that and they DID kind of make it obvious they needed the both of them ALIVE for their plan, so he was probably pretty sure they wouldnt kill him.
