I'd never say Kankri is incompetent. On the contrary, he's very good at what he does and pretty smart!

...it's just what he DOES is ass-backwards and bloody infuriating.

Kankri's not really good at what he does though is he? He's contradictory in his views, occasionally shames people with disabilities and is too aggressive in his tactics.

There's nothing wrong with being fond of social justice. It's his application that's messed up.

I am tired of Kankri hate though. He's just a kid.

^I agree with it for the most part, however he isn't a kid though. He's a (relative) teen whose had eternity and back to try and mature (regardless if dying young meant being stuck like that forever), both emphatically and intellectually, and hasn't (and if he did, it is minimal at best). But hell that is how his character has (for the most part) been written to be, whether intentional or not.
