Why is Karkat covering Kankri's eyes? Is he worried Kankri might go on one of his Trigger Warning tangents?

I'm imagining that in Karkat's mind there is, metaphorically, a rigid rectilinear grid. And that now, under immense strain, the structure creaks, warps and shatters.

That, or he will try to hook up with a Leijon himself. And since Meulin is already taken, that would leave Nepeta.
Karkat doesn't want that because he thinks Kankri is too horrible a person and Nepeta deserves someone better.
