You know, I can't help but notice that the game of Sburb seems to be specifically set up so that a player cannot meet an alternate-universe version of themselves. We've seen four universes: two sets of pre- and post-scratch, and in each of them, the parents/kids have been swapped chronologically at the scratch.

In the trolls' case, all of the ancestors on Beforus appeared to have died before the session started, and all the players died at the scratch, so none of them could meet their Alternian doubles, even in dream-ghost form (since only players leave those).

In the kid's case, the ancestors all came into the game with the players, but they all died before the scratch. Additionally, none of the Beta kids' Alpha versions made it into the Alpha session (GCAT even intervened when Poppop was about to be prototyped).

It all leads to me suspecting that a player meeting their post-scratch self would violate a fundamental law of Sburb, and the universes are constructed in such a way as to prevent it, which would explain the ancestor swapping. Which leads me to the sole exception of all four universes: Nannasprite. If I'm right, and it's a universal law that players cannot meet their post-scratch selves, what happens when Jane and Nannasprite meet, and that law is broken?

That's not far from what I'm thinking. Sort of a "crossing the streams" sort of thing.

You might be on to something there. It's just enough of a ghostbusters reference that this might have to be moved to the forums for more speculation. I love it!
