Some people seem to go apeshit when they see a Dave with dark skin in fanart, described in fanfic and/or role-plays...even though it's rare in fanworks and after Hussie described the kids as aracial.

I only go kinda apeshit because Im OCD as fuck and red eyes means albinism. As well as near to totally white hair. Even if he IS black.

But Rose has purple eyes and Roxy has pink eyes, so I don't think eye color means the same thing in the Homestuck universe as it does in real life.

But Albion can get pink eyes. Or blue ones, for that matter. And very light purple for incomplete albinism. And light-brown, which, I suppose, orange enough?

You forget that Homestuck takes inspiration from 16-bit JRPGs(which were inspired by many anime) where characters who have blonde hair and/or red eyes aren't an automatic indication that they are albino.

Yeah i know chocoboo, and when they are in 16-bit drawing style it doesnt bug my OCD. its when they start getting drawing in more detailed styles that a little voice in the back of my head goes "these eye colors only exist under these medical conditions, that kid is albino and you know it".
Its just the OCD, the same OCD that has made me in the past right up a 9 page theoretical explanation, with an additonal 3 pages of sketches, for how troll biology works. To justify Lusii and troll-boobs to myself.

You need to start telling that little voice in the back of your head that these characters are much more anime than realistic. Otherwise trying to apply real-world logic in this comic most of the time leads to madness.
