Wasn't all her paint from animal blood? I don't think she went around hunting grubs (I mean maybe if she lived close to the brooding caverns but there's no indication she did, and isn't the paint we see in her cave mostly red and black?)

She did totally kill giant beasts hand over fist and sometimes do it while carrying her lusus tho.

She had a manufactured paint set that was made of culled grubs' blood(which she used for her meteor shipping wall), but I don't think she actually killed grubs herself. One of Playbunny's headcanon has Nepeta discovering already dead grubs by chance and using their blood as extra paint when the sets run out.

I'm not quite sure how accurate this "canon" depiction here is, she was pretty freaked out by gamzee's antics even before he killed Equius, also she seemed pretty dissapointed/upset/sad about many things that were happening around her.

Though I agree that many times the fanon plainly exaggerates her quite a bit....though same can be said about every homestuck character ever.

Eh, as far as canon Nepeta goes in relation to Karkat, no matter how it may ontradict everything else, I cant help but think of rose from 2.5 men.

^Nepeta always struck me as the type who'd take rejection from Karkat like "Lol, whatevs."
I dunno why, she just did.
Then again, I think this might be canon, considering the reaction she had when Jasprosesprite^2 told her that Karkat and Dave are in a thing together.
