^ idk if this is what you meant, but Laika was the first living thing to go to space. She was a dog. Theres a lot of jade-specific references, so im not sure this isnt also based on a old soviet poster. I looked at the artists tumblr and as far as i know the only connection is jade to Laika, and that is because Laika never got to come back to earth from space (since they couldnt figure out how to get her back) and jade was on a 3 year solitary trip for some reason or another idk homestuck is like 8000 pages
