Do what I do: Catalogue at least one hundred examples ahead of time during your exhaustive trawl forward through the ancient end of the site, then furtively implement the "bathing" tag while no one is looking, and wait for your jolly booru friends to stumble across the new tag like a shiny toy squirrelled away in a hidden corner of the house. Their initial incredulity will give way to delight as they click the tag and are met with a gallery of bathing images both old and recent, and they will clap their hands and cry "Capital, capital! Oh, this is the best of fun!" Assured that you've given them a tiny gift of surprise and satisfaction, and with the shiny new "bathing" tag forever under your belt, you can move onward in your neverending quest to spread sweetness and light.

Or, uh, I guess, um, ahem, um, you know, I guess you could do what you did and just, like, petition on the forum for it. But you still need some examples. I can only remember coming across like four or five bathing images.

I know back on Skaia I admittedly made a lot of tags in secret because agreements were hard to reach and I think new tags were rather blockaded.

But now the board is very loose about giving a go ahead as long as the tag is sound so I feel you should check in? People want to help with new tags you know.

Another strategy back on Skaia that I pulled a few times (Velvet Squiddleknit, SOLO! etc) was just going ahead and tagging stuff, then backing it up in case someone decides to delete it.

You could do that pretty easily over here using private pools as "temp tags"…
