The only thing that doesn't fit is that the Engineer isn't a very combat capable class and doesn't wield a katana.

However, I'd say it still probably fits Dirk the best.

Would Dave make a better Soldier or Demoman, though?

Personally I think he's fine as this class if he rocks a Southern Hospitality or maybe a Gunslinger.

Oh, heh, I wasn't suggesting to switch him over to soldier or demo, I was suggesting he steal from them.

Although frankly, I think Sniper prolly fits a lot better than any of the three previously mentioned.
