So I just had a thought... If Rose really WAS inverting her aspect and class in resisting her destiny as a Seer of Light to approximate a Mage of Void...

Would Grimdark be a Void player ability? Can you get powers of a different aspect when you invert it?

Well, her magic certainly wasn't Light-based. Void seems to encompass, among other things, the furthest ring (Dirk noting that Roxy's dreamself had a "slumbering attraction to the void"). Plus Rose's grimdark blackout was explicitly compared to Roxy's Voidy blackout, and said comparison is what prompted Calliope to mention that players of one aspect can have opposite abilities if corrupted...

So yea, grimdark-like shit probably is something that Void players can invoke willingly. Hell, since void is often about obscuring information, they can probably even turn the elderitch babbling on and off to "encrypt" their speech.

The furthest ring and the gods that go along with it is the only real location attributed to the Void aspect that we know so far.

It would have to be an active Void player ability though. Since Mage is also an active class and that's definitely what Rose was acting more like. Seers aren't trailblazers, but are passive and guide with their aspect. So something like a Knight of Void would have powers close to this. Literally using the Void (and possibly the powers of it's dark gods) as a weapon. The visual effect it would have on active classes of the Void aspect would probably be something like the photo negative. Thats kind of what Rose's grimdark looks like to me..
