I'm not sure if there has been a Homestuck character introduction that got the same level of flood as Aranea did. Even if Meenah is now outpacing her as favorite Beforan :V

there was also the Calmasis flood, but I don't think that was quite as big as Aranea's.

IIRC there was a lot more fanart in the wake of Bubblr pt 1 than for any of those three, but that was of course split between Kankri, Latula, Porrim, Meenah et al.
(Too bad we can no longer go and actually count. I seem to remember about 15 pages ≈ 180 pics for Aranea, and about 800 pics with K/L/P)
Jane and Jake got a decent flood too originally.

I ended up going through Skaia from the beginning of 2012 recently and I can confirm that Aranea's was by FAR the largest of any of the fanart dumps immediately after her introduction. Admittedly, that may be due to a couple of very zealous uploaders, and the ratios have undoubtedly changed since, but she had something like four ENTIRE PAGES all just of her, from nothing more than that brief image. Scary indeed.
