How Slick's body is almost entirely prosthetic, so his friends couldn't be alive.

...I would find this sadder if I didn't suspect that Jack (without influence from other entities) was incapable of feeling any strong emotions other than blinding rage.

Even if it's hatelove, I would consider kismesitude to be a strong emotional attachment. :/

Yeah, Jack's interactions tend to revolve around hate and violence, and maybe that's a little sad in its own way.

But remember he survived many, many years in exile with these guys. It's possible he's mellowed out, and if he's capable of loving anyone, it's them.

well I do think he'd be upset about losing them, I just don't think those feelings would manifest in anything resembling actual sadness. He'd sooner take it out on anything soft enough within stabbing range.
