This makes me think maybe Nepeta has a hidden psychic power: the ability to anime-ify things.

When she uses it her eyes expand into saucers while her mouth shrinks. And it can extend to her surroundings too. If turns it on as strong as possible, everything is bloom-lit, things sparkle for no reason, and people hold dramatic poses for minutes at a time.
