That's somewhat debatable, he's been frequently referenced to as splintered and unhappy, and it was that very unhappiness that was intense enough to finally break him. In a sense he did accept it, but not under normal circumstances whatsoever.

Normal emotional circumstances in which he probably wouldn't have given in to it in the first place.

Like for instance, no robotself telling you you lack the mental capacity to be happy unless you do it.
