TRUTH. I never liked Wes Anderson much before it, but Moonrise totally sold me on his fastidious charms.

^Man, not even Fantastic Mr. Fox? Even though I liked Moonrise Kingdom and The Life Aquatic, I thought his style fits more in animation.

TBH I only saw like the last twenty minutes of Mr. Fox, I gotta go rewatch it sometime. But my first experience with him was Darjeeling and I loved the design of the movie, but I just couldn't enjoy the protagonists wallowing in their white people problems while actual suffering in India went on around them. And then I saw Aquatic and once again I loved the design, but that particular character death that happened toward the end was weird and didn't sell at all, considering it was hardly a real human drama up to that point. But then MOONRISE. Where I loved the design. And also the characters and the story and fucking everything.
