Kankri actually does have friends though. Like, they get tired of his attitude sometimes but they are his friends?

Here's my impression:

Damara never converses with Kankri
Rufioh got some talk with him but tries to avoid using triggers to spare him the long-winded wrath
Mituna is Mituna with him
Meulin he avoids
Porrim tolerates his ranting from time to time but would raise a stint should he cross the line
Latula acts like she is listening
Aranea same as Latula
Horuss listens at times, mostly to validate his quirks
Kurloz same as Meulin
Cronus same as Horuss
Meenah barely tolerates and often derails/triggers him intentionally

Porrim doesn't tolerate him, she mothers him.

And every good mother disciplines their child when they are acting like an ass. That doesn't mean you "tolerate" them only.

That's what I got from it anyways.

Porrim acts very motherly towards him, and though there is much snark there is obviously affection there, with sweaters being knitted and her saying she could never call him 'Insufferable' as a nickname. Though he could step into kind of creepy behaviour, he had some chill moments with Latula too. Aranea also implies their relationship is complicated, kind of implying it is more complicated for Latula too? Though this is less certain. His conversations with Cronus and Horuss were fairly amiable too.

He also acted as a second leader to the group, though his attempts were largely unsuccessful.

Even Aranea, who remember, is distant from the group at large tolerates him enough to be a fan of his ancestor's story, and the potential their 'friend' had within him.

We don't actually get any Kankri interaction outside of those dancestors, and Meenah and Mituna. Meenah obviously hates listening to him, though Meenah has a soemwhat negative view on all her friends. It's harder to say with Mituna? All we get is Kankri kind of chiding him unfairly.

I don't think he'd have a negative relationship with Meulin or Rufioh though, for instance.

i also believe that somewhere deep in kankri's being he was jealous of what his Alternian self had because it was more genuine than what he got on Beforus; a caring guardian, followers who'd listen to his every word, friendship and an amazing love versus scrutiny and probably the constant nagging feeling that everyone is only humoring him, but at least he could lose himself in his highfalutin social justice endeavors.
