Part of me wants to think that maybe this is some elaborate scheme where the downvoting is done by someone who likes the ships, knowing that they'll get a good amount of upvotes in retaliation. The other part of me knows that there are people stupid enough to think continuous mass downvoting has any sort of negative effect that isn't quickly discovered and easily fixed, also bringing additional positve attention to pics they don't like.
