I don't understand the fanartist compulsion to color troll skin the same color as their blood, whether it's all of their skin or just the elbows and knees and chin, or whatever. Even ignoring how much it violates canon, it sort of ruins the idea of drawing trolls if half the fandom decides they don't like the actual color of troll skin. It would be like half of Mass Effect fanart featuring red Asari or something. Anyways, it's still a cute picture. I like her hair.

^ I generally don't mind the practice, and even if you dislike it it's not hard to understand.

Though doing it to the sprites seems kind of odd...

I'd be fine with it if not for the special case of Karkat. Hard to imagine how he could have ever sustained the fantasy that his blood mutation might go unnoticed, if his skin were pigmented reddish.

^ He could probably pass for rust blood (like Aradia) but that still wouldn't explain why nobody besides Terezi knew about his blood. Or why he used grey instead of rust for his text color.

Keep in mind that Karkat's eyes would have eventually turned red, too.

He couldn't even sustain that fantasy in what we know for a fact is canon. :/

Isn't "rust blood" supposed to be a slur for the browns and reds?

^Ah, didn't know that, sorry. Aradia's blood is actually burgundy, apparently.

It's also worth noting that Vriska has blushed blue, so it's not completely out of nowhere.

Well, the thing wasn't that he maintained a fantasy that he could hide it, it was that he actually had until the events of canon. Sure, it wouldn't have lasted forever because of the eyes, but the fact that by the time of Hivebent it was still a secret rules out the idea of translucent skin similar to what humans have.

Not that I mind the idea of it in fanart. It's an interesting style, so long as it's not overdone.

Whats your response to the Vriska panel then?
