Whenever posts get deleted, whatever tags they had at the time stay with it. So now there's things like the entire "ghostcomplex" tag - no images, but tons of tagged characters and such. I'm wondering if there's anyway to completely delete these tags or at least change them to "deleteme", as they're clogging up a bunch of the tags as it is.

I seem to be able to retag deleted posts just fine... Could be because I'm a mod, tho.

Probably. I'm just a User, and I get redirected to the home page whenever I try to open the images.
