Why wouldn't the HIC be anything similar to Meenah considering they are the same person, just different circumstances.
Because if the dancestors/ancestors are any indication, having those qualities as your predisposition does not necessarily mean you will turn out that way.
i.e.: Latula/Redglare, Aranea/Mindfang, and so on.

And especially Kankri/Sufferer.
Thing is, Kankri could become very much like the Sufferer if he crowbarred his head out of his nook and had something worth fighting against, and Latula's putting up a front, so deep down she could be a lot more like Redglare than she appears. Aranea's an anomaly.

Feferi had a fun bitchy side to her, as evidenced by talking to her as Vriska in Alterniabound, it just wasn't as prevalent.

Remember, we learned about Mindfang through her diary, and it has always been a possibility that there were embellishments in the delivery. It's most likely that all the things she said happen did, in fact, happen, but I think that, in reality, her personality was more like Aranea's than the diary might imply. It's one thing to SAY you'd chop your own arm off to shut someone like Darkleer up and quite another to actually do so, particularly if you have a glamorized view of yourself.
