woulda think that Kanaya is shorter than Rose, as Kanaya is suppose to be 12 years old, and Rose is suppose to be 13.4 years old, and also highbloods grow slower and Nepeta and Karkat are suppose to age like normal humans? But here they seem both around 17, which i think is the lowest age you can go in a spaceship as enlisted personnel?

Rose isn't older than Kanaya. It says right in the Hivebent intro that 6 sweeps is equal to 13 human years. A sweep is not equal to 2 Earth years, it's equal to roughly 2.167 Earth years. Since Kanaya was already 6 on Karkat's wriggling day, it's safe to assume she's older than him in the same sense that Rose is older than John. We don't know who is older between Kanaya and Rose. Personally, I have always been a big fan of willowy Kanaya.

Not to mention the facts of the Mass Effect universe. Troll aging doesn't apply here because Kanaya is not a troll here. The difference in lifespans and the aging cycle between Asari and humans means that the minority standards are not going to be the same, either.
