Didn't that only happen after they died? So does John now have a choice to let his hand heal over time or Zillyhoo himself to die and get back to life?

Subquestion: how often did the beta kids off themselves over the years to heal their minor but annoying wounds?

Sub-subquestion: would Rose dying and being restored cure her alcoholism?
