Small pet-peeve admission time: I get slightly annoyed when people draw Dave in cat*, rabbit, rhino, any other animal other than bird(specifically crow) in these images that assign the other kids in their associated animal motif(Rose=cats, Jade=dogs. John=rabbit, etc.). It seems that people are anti-bird for Dave or they are pro-cat. I mean damn, the bird motif has been hammered on since the early days in the comic. I mean his hair is shaped as a bird for goodness sake.

(*)exception: If Cat!Dave is specifically referred to Akwete Purrmusk and even then I prefer the Purrmusk to be wild, fierce, and badass instead of just adorable.

Not want to specifically pic on this image as I have to admit at least a deer is different than the overused cat. Also the image itself is cute.

It was just a small pet-peeve, that's all.

You know thinking on it now, it probably originated from a "Strideer" typo.


(Also birds have no external ears, making bird animal ears impossible, and the ears have always been the main draw of things like this... that's why animal ears is a tag in of itself. I guess owls have like tufts but Dave has nothing to do with owls. I suppose your peeve is slightly more warranted in actual animalstuck pictures like this but again birds have so many key differences such as no arms, again with the no ears, ect. I fully understand why artists don't go the bird route, I'm not sure I would go full on anti-bird bias on them... though yeah diversity beyond cats and dogs is always nice)

Well in place of animal ears, you would give bird!Dave a beak and wings--something similar to Runawaystuck!Dave.
