"virgin_mother_grub"

This seems like the non-virgin variety to me.

it's OK, she's not their real mother anyway

To be fair, in many animal species (like meerkats for example), the young will often be looked after by other females in the group who are often not allowed by the resident matriarch to mate.

Why is it so funny that baby Cronus is slouching around with a twig in his mouth?

I love grub pictures, but I'm starting to get a pet peeve about them. The recurring thing where they have their later-in-life accessories and hairstyles is starting to bug me. Like, ok, I can understand having their hair be very similar (that's basically the way canon does it after all) but done-up hair like Meenah, Damara, and Horuss have here is kind of silly. We can recognize them fine without that, and I tend to think it looks better without.

I would agree with you if not for the fact that a lot of other grub pictures that I've seen lack those accessories and hairstyles, which actually makes it difficult to tell which troll they are. Megidos, Makaras, Pyropes, and Serkets especially are very hard to tell apart if not for some detail from their later life that differentiates them.

Also, I accept Mituna grub even though he probably wouldn't be behaving like present-day brain damage Mituna. But he's the most adorable grub of the bunch, so I won't have it any other way!

^Well, it can be done, although you do have a point. But it persists even in single-group pictures.

...I always saw it as grub Mituna acting like a happy baby as opposed to as if he's to brain damaged.

Who knows, maybe the grubs were created wearing makeup and headbands, like Rose was.

we've seen a post-scratch damara grub before, she looked just like aradia. including the red lipstick and mascara.

These people forget that Jade, John, Jake, and Jane all were born with their glasses.
This is totally how it happens.
