I admit, if they were both women in canon I would totally ship it. Awesome ladies loving each other > dudeslash any day.

People are allowed to be fed up with the obsessive over-focus on dudes in this fandom/wider fandom culture, and the sidelining of women that occurs as a result. Hating m/m slash doesn't always have to do with homophobia or finding it "gross." Some of us want to celebrate women who are awesome and women who love other women rather than perpetuate a fandom status quo that's all about men, men, men.

Or it could not be a social justice thing and a person who has no sexual attraction to men might just find the prospect of lesbian shipping more attractive than the prospect of m/m shipping.

I think you're greatly overestimating the thought put into comments like "lesbians make everything better."

I'm not sure how ironic it is that most of the people in this thread are anons.

As ironic as rain on your wedding day, as a free ride when you've already paid, as the good advice you just didn't take. And who would've thought? It figures.

Funny how in this case 'celebrating women' involves shitting on the interests of real women.

... "Real women" aren't invested in slash across the board. Lesbians exist, you know. I am one.

I'm well aware. I'm bi myself and I ship everything, but hating m/m slash and guilting people for liking it isn't some noble cause like 'celebrating women' and never will be.
