Hmmm... Well, more than likely any commentary I leave here won't reach the artist's eyes, but as long I'm free to put up my two cents, I prefer the right-hand Calliope, with the lanky design. It better matches the angular, noodle people style of the the Huss' Hero Mode and other other more detailed work, and as the cherubs are so skeletal in nature, I feel that thinness matches that, at least while they're still adolescent and not fully developed, also, if noone is offended by me saying, her thin picture brings to mind a teen girl going through anorexia, which goes a long way to visually conveying Calliope's body issues and species dysphoria.

Pretty much agree with you for the most part, I'm always always down for fleshier human/troll designs but the sight of a cherub with curves takes some getting used to. I guess if adult cherubim can be as megabuff as Lord English than there's no reason they can't rock a little curvature too...

...but it's so much more fun having a headcanon that all adult cherubim are jacked as fuck.

I personally prefer buff Calliope myself (which I think could also play into her species dysphoria as /seemingly/ neither troll nor human females tend to be typically hyper muscular) mostly because I think it's cute.

/deep thought provoking reasoning

Yeah, I figured adolescent Calliope (and her shithead bro) are not merely skeletal in physique but effectively asexual (since neither one of them has mastery over their body). Maybe if Callie had a chance to grow up she'd become womanly-looking (with an uber-jacked Amazonian physique, like her mom).

Based on some of the dialogue that was about the Cherub species and the panels in this comic, it seems that the species starts off as kind of slim, scrawny, and probably skeletal through their childhood and then they buff-up after puberty. Or that's how I intemperate it.
