is her skin behaving like fur, or did she grow fur that is exactly flesh-colored?

You can see at the tips of the fur that it's white. White hair is technically pigmentless/translucent, so I think it's just that in the areas where it's sparser the color of the skin shows through. It's the same principle that allows blonde girls to get away with not shaving more easily than dark-haired girls.
