Idk about anyone else but does the entire "dave talks about the past" monolgue feels like Dave is having a breakdown and just trying to convince himself that it isn't so?...maybe thats just me...

I dunno, it feels natural to me. He's spent 3 years with The Mayor as his best friend, it makes sense he'd rub off on Dave.

I wouldn't say breakdown, but I'm sure the flood of nostalgia is just reminding him how much his life has changed over the past 3 years. Like when you look through an old diary you kept when you were younger, or find a box of toys/things you used to play with. I know I've gotten nostalgia looking through old drawings from years past, maybe not as intense as Dave, but yeah.

Were all entitled to our issues, that's what humanizes things, the scale of the issue in questions size I cannot say. But still a personal conflict is at hand.

A lot of Dave's external monologues seem kind of nutty. I even thought his monologues in the 1st year of the meteor were supposed to be indicative of him getting cabin fever.

Dave is probably the most developed character in Homestuck, or at least up there. He is truly awesome.

This is just the start Nintey, they'll all be as real as your family by the end. Then Hussie will be Hussie and kill the one's we like best. He'll probably hold a 'who's you're favorite character' bit just to help him decide.
