man, I wonder....Stabdads and Sleuthdads are a thing, but why has almost no one explored the ideas of the Kids' Exiles being their parents?

^ Because the kids already have parents. Karkat's hypothetical relationship with Spades Slick might be more interesting than his relationship with (mute and bestial) Crabdad. But Dave's hypothetical relationship with Authority Regulator is probably not more interesting than his relationship with his Bro.
