They REALLY want people to know how badly they need to hate the ship is.
Or, actually, this is more like that ancient egyptian thing where they'd destroy evidence of a person to make it like they never lived at all and destroy their afterlife.

So it actually sounds worse for that hater because he'd be the only person steaming over the fact with everyone else unaware...
