Accurate representation is accurate.
In all seriousness, though, I think the reasoning for that ship is "opposites attract", which is a pretty stupid phrase, honestly, as there's more to a relationship than that.

There's people who acknowledge that Tavriska is incredibly unhealthy and don't down play what she did to him. Some people like unhealthy/toxic/abusive fictional relationships.
