Dave and Dirk united against Union Jack. Well, it's clear that both of them are very skilled swordsmen, which is definitely a good asset for them. This might also be the fight where Dave fulfills the prophecy of defeating Lord English (or at least another incarnation of him).

The only positive thing I can note about Terezi being on the team is that it would be a good way for her to generally distract and screw around with Jack, lol. I'm not really that sure about her entire combat capabilities, imo.

They had to fight Slick as well, and Dave killed both of them along with Dirk,

Also, contrary to above, Terezi did just fine in the battle. If anything, Dirk was the weakest link, given how many time Dave and Terezi had to save his butt.

Which actually makes sense, considering Dirk has the least experience of them in fighting enemies he didn't program himself. And it shows that his "unstoppable warrior" reputation was just as much of a facade as Dave's "coolkid" thing or Rose's "aloof and condescending" thing or Jake's "fearless adventurer" thing.
