I'm sure they'd still be friends. And since they'd be going well after Voldemort was defeated, I'm sure house relations are more resolved, and making friends outside of you designated house is probably encouraged.

It's been argued a lot. I've seen John as Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, Rose as Ravenclaw and Slytherin, Jade as everything but Slytherin, and Dave as fucking everything.

If it was up to J.K. Rowling, she would have placed all four of them in Gryffindor regardless of their personalities because they are the main characters.

Gryffindor: Main characters, regardless of disposition.
Ravenclaw: Auxiliary characters of some importance.
Slytherin: Bad guys.
Hufflepuff: The rest.
