Yup the original conceptualization saw Tavros as the most schemeing and mean of the trolls. Sort of like Karkat but a colder type, sort of like Diamonds Droog of the trolls.

The other fun one was the debate of Kanaya's gender. Quite a few people thought she was a guy.
