Yeah, I worried about this too, but then I realized that it's entirely possible that Dirk's apartment could've been placed above the Krypton atmosphere like how John's house was placed above the clouds.

SBurb has its dickish moments, but I'm not sure it's so dickish to immediately drop a player into a poisonous cloud. Regardless, it's a good thing Sawtooth took the first step.
