I feel like it comes down to whether Calliope's hair is her canonical troll wig (in which case def fashion) or whether it's supposed to be actually attached to her scalp. The source only reveals that this is an AU where they're English students... Hard to say.

@Lettucefood: non_canon_design would hold, I submit, if in this AU Sugargams is choosing to *treat* Calliope's wig as if it were actually her hair. That's probably less likely than fashion, but since they're supposed to be English students and English schoolgirls are somewhat more likely to have natural hair than be bald, it's still in the realm of possibility.

I'm amenable to changing it to fashion, I just don't think your argument is a 100% proof when this is a known AU.

Last time I checked, non-canon-design was exclusively for drawings that don't match canon because they were made before a character's appearance was revealed. Changes to a character's already known appearance that are made for AU reasons just go under the AU tag.
