So in this AU, Jade's a neo-Nazi, Rose is some sort of terrorist cultist, and John's an infamous mass murderer. This guy? Fraud. One of these things is not like the other.

Maybe it's meant to subvert Dave's cool persona by making him a huge nerd in an AU full of violent gross insane people.

All of the crimes are based on something they did in story, but dramatizing and magnifying their 'crimes' a bit. Dave did work the crocodile stock market, if memory serves.
