I like how the lower you go on the spectrum, the more canon fodder ground troopy they are. It's a smart touch.

gosh this is one of my favorite line-ups.
I hadn't noticed the infantry vs command aspect, but I'd say unspecialized vs specialized instead - Gamzee and Feferi would both likely be knee deep in the action too, just killing a hellova lot more trolls~

@max: Well, I didn't really mean infantry vs command so much as expendable vs not. And naturally it's a tendency rather than a hard and fast rule. For example, Terezi looks to be in a similar position to Eridan, while Gamzee of course is just all-out crazy. But still. Fef may be knee-deep in the action, but to lose her would be a far worse catastrophe than losing, say karkat or Aradia. Or, hell, both. I mean, you can just throw people from Aradia to Nepeta (barring perhaps Sollux) at the enemy, but you don't want to waste anyone above that, even suicide bomber gamzee.
...this is all from a troll point of view, of course. I don't want to imply that throwing soldiers to their deaths is a thing that should be done.
